McRib: Round Two!

Well of course my barbecue night had me craving ribs all week.  Luckily, there isn't much better for an in-between-class lunch than a delicious, juicy, tender McRib!  Since their availability is only for a limited time, it is in your best interest to eat well and eat often.  I sat down and thoroughly enjoyed my meal, knowing full well  that it may be the last McRib for a while.  With my BBQ crave satiated, I was ready to hit the bar in time for 50 cent pitcher night.

And just a fair warning: do NOT get the eggnog milkshake!  I love eggnog as much as the next guy, I've got about two gallons in my fridge, but this thick and frothy concoction does not do the delicious beverage justice.  Please, for your own good, stay away!

BBQ Night: Ribs and Cornbread

Just because you're pressed for time with finals and term papers doesn't mean you can't keep eating good.  My newest obsession is my crock pot, and I've been trying out any recipe I can.  This is my favorite so far, and it went over really well with my roommates, who, like me, needed a reprieve from long study hours.  This simple recipe is sure to satisfy!

The McRib is Back!

In all her glory

If you're anything like me, you seek out and hunt down the famous McDonald's McRib sandwich like it was Bigfoot.  Well, rest easy, because the saucy beast is back!  For a limited time, McDonald's is carrying the McRib again, available as just a sandwich, or as a combo with fries and a drink.

Beefy Mac & Cheese!

Time, money, and ease of recipe are important to the college student who cooks for himself. One must fit in some time to cook around class, homework, and parties.  What's worse is being restricted to the measly income from any low-paying campus job, if you are lucky enough to have one. This recipe should allow any student with minimal (or none) cooking experience to make an easy, delicious, and frugal meal to soak up all the alcohol in his or her system.

Profile: Grill Master Bobby Flay

Not every 8-year-old boy in Long Island asks for an Easy Bake Oven for Christmas, despite his father’s insistence on a more traditional G.I. Joe.  But then again, most 8-year-old boys don’t grow up to be one of the most recognizable television chefs and restaurateurs in the country. This is exactly what Bobby Flay did, and I believe I can speak for most hungry Americans when I say I’m glad he got that Easy Bake Oven.

Review: Yukon Jack's Hilltop Grill

With a new restaurant or take out eatery popping up in the Storrs area every few months, one should approach any new establishment with some trepidation.  I'm always eating, and always looking for the next new thing, so I have seen my fair share of new successes and failed attempts.  But Yukon Jack’s Hill Top Grill, the newcomer on Rt. 44, is definitely worth the trip.
